In 2016, Danaher acquired Cepheid for US$4 billion, which made up for the lack of POCT and molecular diagnostics in one fell swoop, making it more powerful to fully compete with the other three giants.
In April 2017, Abbott acquired Alere for $51 per share and a total price of $5.3 billion, which became the top player.Only the early forward-looking layout will have the opportunity to enjoy the dividends when the trend comes.
Major players in China: Great growth potential, Wondfo Biologics occupies the “C position” in the industry.
Although domestic POCT started late, it has the fastest growth rate in the world, and the market potential is huge.
Domestic companies are represented by the listed companies Wondfo Bio, Dongfang Gene, Mingde Bio, Jidan Bio, and Aotai Bio . The total number of companies exceeds 200, most of which are small and medium-sized enterprises, and the industry concentration is low.
Among them, Wondfo Biotech is the earliest POCT manufacturer listed on the market in China. It has been focusing on the POCT track for many years, with a market share of 10%. Its product line, revenue, and profitability are all in a leading position, firmly occupying the “C position” in the industry.
