INTENDED USE
FHV Ag Rapid Test is a combined cassette to differentially diagnose the presence of feline Herpesi (FHV) in cats’ secretions.

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY
FHV Ag Rapid Test is based on colloidal gold immunochromatography. During the test, the feline Herpesivirus antigen in the sample with the colloidal gold-coated monoclonal antibody to form an antigen-antibody complex and flowed along the test paper to the other end of the NC membrane. When the complex flows to the T region on the membrane, the specific antibody fixed on the membrane captures the complex and gradually condenses into a visible T line. Unbound colloidal gold antibody flows through the T
region and is captured by the secondary antibody in the C region and forms a visible C line. The appearance of the C line indicates the occurrence of immunochromatography, that is, the test strip is effective; The presence of a T line indicates that the sample contains feline Herpesivirus.

TEST PROCEDURE
1st Step
– Take cat’s secretions with the swab stick from cat’s cloaca or on the ground
2nd step
– Insert the wet swab into the provided assay buffer tube. Agitate it to assure good sample extraction
3rd Step
– Take out the cassette from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
4th Step
-Gradually drip 2-3 drops of sample extraction into the sample hole “S”.
5th Step
Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 10 minutes is considered as invalid.

STORAGE
The kit can be stored at room temperature (2-30°C). The test kit is stable through the expiration date (18 months) marked on the
foil pouch. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store the test kit in direct sunlight.
