Veterinary Feline Calicivirus Antigen Rapid Test Kit FCV Ag test kit
【Intended Use】
Feline calicivirus(FCV) is a viral respiratory infectious disease. Its main signs are the upper respiratory symptoms including depression, serous and mucinous rhinorrhea, conjunctivitis, stomatitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, and accompanied with double phase fever. Feline calicivirus infection is a frequently-occurring disease in cats.
Feline Herpesvirus (FHV) is a DNA virus, which can cause feline rhinotracheitis, conjunctivitis and keratitis. Slight feline
rhinotracheitis may cause cough, sneeze, shedding tears, skin ulcers, other symptoms and even death in severe cases.
This reagent is used to detect feline calicivirus in cats’ nasal and oral secretions and the herpesvirus in feline nasal
secretions.
【Principle】
This reagent is made according to the colloidal gold immunochromatographic assay (GICA).After the sample is added to the sample well on the cassette, it will flow with colloidal gold markers along the chromatographic membrane. If there is the presence of feline calicivirus/feline herpesvirus in the sample, the combination of the virus with the colloidal gold marker and the antibody on the test line will make the test line become red. if the feline calicivirus/feline herpesvirus is absent in the sample, the test line will not become red. Whether or not feline calicivirus/feline herpesvirus exist in the sample, the quality control line will become red.
【Sample Requirements】
1. The FCV part of thetest cassetteonly applies to the feline oral and nasal secretions, and the FHV part only applies to the feline nasal secretion.
2. Collect fresh samples, and put the samples into the buffer immediately and get them tested within 1 hour.
3. If the diluted samples could not be tested in time, they could be refrigerated at 2-8 ℃for 24 hours.
【Sample Collection】
1. Use cotton swabs to collectsamples.
2. Put the collected samples into thebuffer bottle, stir and stay for 1-2min.
3. Remove the cotton swabs, tighten the cap of the buffer bottle, reverse it and make it mix well.
【Test Procedure】
1. Take out the cassette from the aluminium foil bag and put it on a flat&clean surface.
2. Use the pipette to draw 3 drops(80ul)of diluted sample and add it into the sample well, then wait for test results.
3. Allow 10-15 minutes at room temperature to determine the results, any result longer than 20 minutes is invalid.
Note: The required time above is based on a room temperature of 15-30°C.If the room temperature is below 15℃, the time should be extended appropriately.
